My addiction with Crossfit started in fall 2007, end neither myself nor my health have looked backed. I used to be a meat-head doing what meat-heads do…chest/tri’s, back/bi’s, hardly ever legs, blah, blah, blah. I ate a high-protien/carb/no-fat diet, because that’s what Muscle & Fiction said to do. That all changed the day I decided to give ‘Cindy’ a go…bad idea. Pullups, pushups, and air squats….easy, I’m in shape, right? 20 min later in the fetal position on the floor sucking all the air out of the room, I had an awakening. I was sore for 4 days, and really couldn’t function until day 5….and that was from only 12 Rounds!!! Crossfit.com is now my homepage and I am a sponge for methods, philosophies, and all things CF. I have never felt better or been in better health. John Welbourn speaks the exact truth in Every Second Counts….Crossfit is a cult, but a good cult….and I am a proud member.

My pull-up bar was custom built by my brother. I'll take detailed pictures if you want something to work from. Know a good welder?

I'm pretty sure the PU bar is 1.5", but I recommend bigger. My hands get torn to shreds if I go 100+ pullups in a workout. I'm thinking about going and getting a 2". The big medicine ball weighs 20# and the smaller one is for my mom (it weighs 8#). I just filled them with fine grain sand

Cindy was my first introduction to Crossfit -- I think I was able to complete 12 rounds, too. A few months later I was up to 20, and then PR'd at 27. Keep up the good work.

Thanks, Scott. I know what you mean about the stares when doing a WOD. The great thing about our gym now is the owner is really into Cross-Fit. There is a good group of regulars now, so there is usually someone there to work out with.
