First time riding with Ryan since everybody stopped coming to the Tuesday Night Road Rides at Bicycles East. He has about 2300 more road miles this year then me. The route was mostly flat from Glastonbury up into South Windsor and back.

Full moon, ideal weather and perfect trail conditions. Clem has been working overtime these last few weeks but he still came out to ride (it was his idea). Nobody else even bothered to reply to the invite. Not sure what’s going on — does anybody like to ride bikes anymore?

Anyway. Clem’s light didn’t hold a charge and so he used my headlamp. Cheryl’s like faded within 30 minutes and she used his headlamp. I fell over twice because I couldn’t clip out, which, upon inspection, was due to a missing screw in my right cleat. I had to ride out of the trail with one foot unclipped. This meant a slower pace, but it worked out in everyones favor since the others didn’t have strong lights and I was their Rudolph. Lots of fun. We need to extend the night ride loop to 10 miles.
