Notes

Great ride. I felt fast and nimble. Humidity was down.

My rear break was working perfectly for the first 5 miles. For a minute there I regretted spending $200 on a new one when this old one still works fine. But then it failed like it has since Pedal Power did their handy work.

My frame fell off of the car rack last night at 40mph because I forgot to latch it down. The grip & bar end took the hit and were compressed pretty badly. The seat was twisted a bit and the frame has a few more scratches. Carbon fiber is incredbily strong until a defect is introduced – when it fails it does so suddenly and catastrophically. I’m partictullary upset about this because I just had the frame replace no more than 5 rides ago. Nothing I can do but ride it. My old frame had a hole bored through it from cable rub and it rode just fine. ;-)

On another note — I had blood taken today to test for Lyme. I’ve found 3 ticks on me so far this year and haven’t been feeling like myself. My performance in the gym and on the bike appear to be down, too.
